On Saturday, May 23rd, as part of the celebration of the bicentennial of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton enfleshing the charity charism in North America, the Daughters of Charity honored men and women who through their way of life or ministry exemplified her spirit. Read full story and see photos.
The NGO office of the Sisters of Charity Federations submitted its quadrennial report at the UN. Beside the activities of the NGO representative, the report includes many of the activities in various parts of the world supported by members of the federation. At Mount St. Joseph, the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, fifteen sisters of the Sisters of Charity Federation gathered with Barbara Hagedorn, SC (Cincinnati), President of the Board of Directors of the Federation, on the weekend of April 3-5, 2009. A committee comprised of Janet Gildea and Monica Gundler (SCs - Cincinnati), Patricia Dotzauer (SC - Convent Station), Maryanne Ruzzo (SC - Halifax) and Nancy Gerth (SCN) planned a weekend to begin the discussion.
